After a rare week off, the UFC is back up and running this coming weekend with UFC Fight Night: Machado Garry vs Prates (aka UFC Kansas City). Since it’s a “road game” for the UFC (not a UFC Apex event), we get a pretty solid fight card. For my MMA Prop Play of the Week: UFC Kansas City, I’m predicting a submission in a prelim bout. My prop play for this week’s UFC Fight Night comes from a prelim bantamweight fight between Da’Mon Blackshear and Alatengheili. And I’m picking ‘Da Monster’ Blackshear to win this bout.
But not via decision. No, I think the veteran is going to tap out his Chinese opponent. Blackshear has 11 career submission wins (out of 16 wins total), including his last two fights. And Alatengheili might feel like his grappling is good enough to hang with Blackshear on the ground and FAFO. Blackshear is always looking to finish while on the mat, so let’s bet that he does just that (and that rhymes like dimes).
