The NBA Play-In has not been kind to my bankroll, but luckily we’ve only got one more day of it before the real playoffs begin. Two more teams head to Cancun after tomorrow night. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Friday, April 18th.

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

Start Time – 7:00 PM EST

The winner of the Miami Heat vs the Atlanta Hawks gets the honor of facing the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers, starting on Eastern Sunday. Quite the reward for battling their way through the NBA Play-In gauntlet.

It’s still up in the air if my special numbers hold up in the playoffs, but I’m going to lean on them until I find out the answer. My line for this game is Atlanta -1.5, so we’re taking the Hawks plus the points.

Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies

Start Time – 9:30 PM EST

Can the Dallas Mavericks, as miserable and shocking as their season has been, pull off two road upsets in the NBA Play-In and become first-round fodder for the Oklahoma City Thunder? Survey says, probably not.

However (there is a however), Ja Morant is questionable tomorrow for the Memphis Grizzlies as his ankle is still quite swollen. But he hasn’t been the Grizzlies’ best player this season, anyhow. My line is Memphis -8.5, so let’s ride with the Griz.
