Football is finally back, baby! It’s been a long three days, but Thursday brings some gridiron action for us to watch and bet on. For my best bet for Thursday, January 9th: College Football Predictions, we’re heading to Florida and the Capital One Orange Bowl, emanating from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Penn State Nittany Lions
Start Time – 7:30 PM EST
The Orange Bowl doubles as one-half of the College Football Playoff semifinals this year, and the game is lining up to be a good one. Either the #7 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish or the #6 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions will punch their ticket to the national championship game and try to win the title for the first time since the 1980s.
And my money is on the Fighting Irish to be the team to make it to the national championship game. Other than a two-point slipup to Northern Illinois in Week 2, Notre Dame has had a perfect season. They’ve got a better offense and defense than Penn State, and based on advanced stats should be a two-point favorite on the spread tomorrow night. That doesn’t leave us much wiggle room, but I think the Fighting Irish will cover for us and head to the finals.
