College Basketball Picks January 7
Florida -2.5 vs. Tennessee
The number-one team in the nation travels to Gainsville to take on one of the most shockingly impressive teams in the country. The Florida Gators have taken the nation by storm and joined the list of SEC teams on the rise.
Tennessee is not only undefeated, but also the AP’s number-one ranked squad. They are an elite defensive bunch, as KenPom ranks them as the second-best defense in the country. The Vols are good but not great on offense, although they have improved leaps and bounds from last season’s Dalton Kenecht one-man show offense.
The Gators are coming off their only loss of the season against the Kentucky Wildcats in their last time out. Overall, they are 10-4 against the spread and 10-3 ATS as a favorite. I’m rolling with the Gators at home in this spot. This has a game-of-the-year potential written all over it.
