The Detroit Lions famously coughed up a 17-point lead in the aforementioned NFC title game last season, allowing the San Fransisco 49ers to advance to the Super Bowl. Since that time, the Lions have remained a top team – they enter tomorrow’s game with a 13-2 record – while San Fran has suffered through a disappointing, injury-plagued year.
The Lions don’t just have revenge on their minds heading into tomorrow’s game – they are also vying for the top playoff seed in the NFC. You have to expect they have all the motivation they need to cruise past the hobbling 49ers and cover this spread for us easily. The Niners lost by 12 to the Miami Dolphins last week – there’s no reason that Detroit can’t at least do the same.
