As we hit the penultimate Sunday of the NFL season, four playoff spots are still up for grabs and 19 teams are still mathematically alive in the playoff hunt. For my best bet for Sunday, December 29th: NFL Predictions, we’re headed to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, where the home team is among that group of 19 with sights set on the postseason.

Carolina Panthers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Start Time – 1:00 PM EST
To say this is a pivotal game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be an understatement. They currently sit with a 48% chance of making the playoffs – however, if they beat the Carolina Panthers tomorrow at home, that number jumps to 64%. A loss drops it precipitously, all the way down to 13%.
This is all to say that the Buccaneers will be highly motivated tomorrow afternoon. And the schedule is doing them a favor, as the Panthers are 4-11 and only 1-5 on the road. They’ve also won just once in their last five games.
Tampa Bay needed overtime to beat Carolina in Week 13, but I don’t think the rematch will be that close. I have this game lined up as Tampa Bay -19, so the Bucs on the spread is my best bet for Sunday.
