MMA Futures Pick of the Week: 2025 UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion

MMA Futures Pick of the Week: 2025 UFC Women's Featherweight Champion

We’re at the start of what amounts to an offseason in the MMA world, with the UFC dark for almost a month over the holiday season (although other regional promotions are still up and running, filling the void a bit). With the action in the UFC cage done for 2024, now is the time to look ahead and place our bets on who will be wearing UFC gold around their waists in their respective weight classes when December 31, 2025 rolls around. Next up: 2025 UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

MMA Futures Pick of the Week: 2025 UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion

2025 UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Futures Best Bet

This is the chalkest pick of all my UFC futures picks, but it’s the right pick. Two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison will continue to lay waste to the UFC women’s 135-pound division in 2025 and will be crowned its champion by the end of the year. And she will hold the belt for as long as she wants.

The only possible snag to this bet cashing is if current champ Julianna Pena finds a way to stay inactive for the full calendar year. I could see her agreeing to a fight and then backing out due to an ‘injury’, allowing her to remain on the sidelines for 2025 and remain the champ. Because she surely knows that whenever she steps into the cage with Harrison, her time as champ is over.

2025 UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Future Best Bet: Kayla Harrison (-300)
