New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers Preview and Predictions

Week 16 will wrap up with Monday Night Football from historic Lambeau Field. Rookie Spencer Rattler will lead the beat-up New Orleans Saints against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN. The forecast is calling for 32 degrees and a light wind at kick time. Let’s take a look at this Saints-Packers preview and predictions.

The New Orleans Saints are rivaling the San Francisco 49ers for the most injured team in the league. Quarterback Derek Carr is going to miss another game, and running back Alvin Kamara won’t be available either. It makes sense for the Saints to shut down their veterans and look forward to next year. Rattler will be starting his fourth game of the season, he led an impressive rally last week coming in for the injured Carr and almost beat the Washington Commanders.

The Packers come into Week 16 at 10-6 and in a Wild Card spot that would give them the sixth seed currently. They could possibly be locked into the playoffs before Monday night’s kick. However, they are still vying for playoff seeding.

Josh Jacobs Over 90.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

The Packers really engaged Josh Jacobs mode last week in their win over the Seattle Seahawks. Jacobs dashed for 94 yards, his fourth 90+ rushing effort in the last seven games. The Packers enter this game as heavy favorites. It’s going to be hard for the Saints to move the ball with all of their main stars out of the game. Green Bay should be able to just pound the rock down their throats at will and walk away with this one.

Packers -14 (-108)

When do you bet on the big spread and when do you not bet on the big spread is the big question. This is a non-divisional road game where everyone for the Saints is basically shut down. The Packers need this as they look forward at their seeding and can’t mess around. The Saints had their big opportunity to steal one over the Commanders late if their two-point try would have been successful. It’s unlikely they can dig deep enough to pull that out a second week in a row. The Packers have won three of their last four games by 13 points or more, expect that again Monday night.
