Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions
Start Time – 8:15 PM EST
Despite screwing me on Thanksgiving by not covering the spread, I’m back on the Detroit Lions bandwagon tomorrow with my best bet. It’s easy to be on the side of the best team in the NFL. But this is by no means a squash match tomorrow night – the visiting Green Bay Packers are a top team as well, sporting a 9-3 record and a top-three ranking based on advanced stats.
The Packers are also an impressive 4-1 on the road this season, while Detroit is 5-1 at Ford Field. However, based on the advanced stats I use to calculate spreads for the NFL, the Lions are eight points better than the Packers are. When you add Detroit’s home-field advantage to the numbers, that spread goes up to 10 points.
That means there’s about seven points of wiggle room on the Lions on the close spread we’re getting them for. Fool me once, shame on the Detroit Lions. Fool me twice….
