Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

Russell Wilson, Mike Tomlin, and the Pittsburgh Steelers head to Landover, Maryland on Sunday. They’ll take on rookie sensation Jayden Daniels and head coach Dan Quinn at Northwest Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Let’s take a look at this Steelers-Commanders preview and predictions.

The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the season 3-0 under quarterback Justin Fields before dropping two consecutive games. Once Russell Wilson was healthy, Mike Tomlin stuck with the plan of making Wilson the starter, and he hasn’t regretted it yet. The Steelers are on another three-game winning streak as they come off their Week 9 bye at 6-2 overall.

On the other hand, the Washington Commanders are this year’s surprise outhouse to the penthouse team. They are also winners of their last three games, including that incredible Hail Mary in Chicago in Week 8. Their record sits at 7-2 overall.

Najee Harris Over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-119)

Najee Harris has had himself a nice season on the ground for the Steelers, especially since Wilson took over at quarterback. Harris has crossed the 63.5-yard mark in six of the Steelers’ eight games, including three straight 100+ games going into last week’s bye.

Now he’s coming in with fresh legs off the bye week, and he gets to take on the 29th-ranked rushing defense in the NFL that allows 143 yards per game on the ground? Yes please, sign me up.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 (-115)

Mike Tomlin is 13-4 coming off the bye week in his career. Giving one of the best coaches in the NFL extra time to prepare, can be a scary proposition. On top of that, Tomlin is 25-6 all-time against starting rookie quarterbacks.

This Steelers team plays hard-nose smashmouth football, and that’s what will happen in Landover on Sunday. They will grind it out with Harris on the ground, and make Daniels make mistakes on the other side. The Steelers are very much alive to win this game as underdogs.
