Bye Week: Browns, Packers, Raiders, and Seahawks

Lock Selection: Eagles

Man, the Dallas Cowboys have simply been downright atrocious this season. In the offseason, outside of locking up Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, they didn’t do much.

Now the team is really banged up, as they currently sit in third place in the NFC East. Dak Prescott will not be playing in this one, as the medical staff is still determining if he will be placed on IR with a hamstring injury. Lamb is questionable, although there is optimism he will play with a shoulder injury. Micah Parsons went through limited practice today but is still listed as questionable.

The Eagles’ offense is finally hitting its stride, although they are dealing with some injuries as well. Dallas Godert, AJ Brown, and Saquon Barkley are all listed as questionable, although they practiced today.

I’m not going to lie. As an Eagles picker this week, Nick Siriani scares me to death. He did everything he could to try to lose the game last week against Jacksonville. I think his bad coaching will come back to bite Philly, but it won’t be in this spot. Eagles dominate here.

Contrarian Selection: Falcons

The Saints finally decided to part ways with Dennis Allen. He’s a classic case of the good coordinator but god-awful head coach, and he probably overstayed his welcome in New Orleans. Yes, the interim head coach bump is real, although we did not see this trend continue when the Jets fired Robert Saleh.

Darren Rizzi is taking over as the head man. I really don’t see this changing much for New Orleans, whose offense has been dreadful outside of the first few weeks.

The Falcons have been an impressive team thus far in 2024. Who had Kirk Cousins looking better than Aaron Rodgers coming off their Achilles injuries on their bingo cards?

Drake London is finally looking like a number-one receiver, although he’s also been bit by the injury bug. If he goes in this one, I think this selection is a slam dunk, as New Orleans parted ways with their best cornerback, Marshon Latimore, at the trade deadline.

Even if London is out, Atlanta still has the firepower to control the game on offense.
