Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview and Predictions

Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview and Predictions

A battle of the two most loyal fan bases goes down on Sunday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have won three out of their first four games behind Justin Fields. Meanwhile, the defensive struggles continue for the Dallas Cowboys who are struggling with injuries. Below are my Cowboys vs. Steelers Preview and Predictions.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten back to old-school football. Playing hard-nosed defense and running the football. However, this week the Steelers have the task of slowing down the Cowboys’ offense. The Steelers do come into this game with injuries to the running back room. Both Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson will be out with injuries. Additionally, linebacker Alex Highsmith will miss the game with a groin injury.

There are significant injuries for the Dallas Cowboys as well. The Cowboys will be without linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs is listed as questionable. Earlier this week, the Cowboys put DeMarcus Lawerence on IR. Additionally, Brandin Cooks will miss this week with a foot injury. This game may come down to which team has more success running the football.

Best Bets

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been very limited on offense. In fact, the Steelers have scored 20+ points just once this season which was last week against the Colts. The Cowboys offense on the other hand has plenty of juice led by Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb. Despite the running game being non-existent, Rico Dowdle seems to be gaining momentum each week. However, I do expect him to struggle this week.

If the Steelers can run the ball effectively and score touchdowns and not settle for field goals they can win this game. With the injuries the Cowboys are dealing with on defense, there is an opportunity for the Steelers to find success on offense. I would expect a heavy dose of Najee Harris and possibly open up the play-action pass. Since the 2016 season, the Cowboys are 15-18 ATS as a road underdog. I am taking the Steelers at home on Sunday Night Football to get it done!

Best Bet: Steelers -2.5

Justin Fields Over 46.5 Rushing Yards

As the injuries pile up on the defensive side for the Cowboys I believe we’ll see a heavy dose of the run game. I am going to look at Justin Fields to find that success. The Cowboys did allow Deshaun Watson to run for 39 yards and a few weeks ago 87 rushing yards to Lamar Jackson.

Since the Steelers will be without Patterson and Warren in this game I believe Fields will be able to contribute in the rushing game. I like the over on his rushing yards
