New York Giants at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

New York Giants at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

Another division matchup early in the season in the NFC East. The New York Football Giants head the road to take on the Washington Commanders. Both of these teams are expected to finish at the bottom of the division. Additionally, it wasn’t a great start to the season for both teams. Both teams lost by double-digit points. Which team will get their first win of the season? Below is my New York Giants at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions!

Giants at Commanders Preview and Predictions

As each week passes and if Daniel Jones continues to play poorly when do the Giants make a quarterback change? Daniel Jones threw two interceptions Week 1 against the Vikings. Jones finished the game with a QBR of 16.2. Since signing the contract extension, Jones has thrown more touchdowns to the opposing team than his own receivers.

Meanwhile, Jayden Daniels made his first start of his NFL career on the road in Week 1. The Commanders’ defense looks like it picked up right where they left off last season. Terrible. Baker Mayfield was able to dice up the secondary and lead the Buccaneers over the Commanders. This will be the first home start for Jayden Daniels and head coach Dan Quinn.

The question in this game becomes can Daniel Jones take advantage of this porous secondary? The good news for Giants fans is that Daniel Jones is 5-1-1 straight up against the Commanders in his career. Since the 2022 season, when the Giants hired Brian Daboll, the Giants are 10-7 ATS as an underdog on the road. Additionally, if those road games are against division opponents the Giants are 5-2 ATS. However, the question becomes do YOU trust Daniel Jones?

As I mentioned above, Jayden Daniels will make his first start at home against the Giants. The Commanders have not fared well as a home favorite. Since the 2018 season, the Commanders/Washington Football Team are 5-11 ATS as home favorites. They are 2-4 ATS in the same role in division games. Lastly, under the Brian Daboll era, when the Giants are coming off a loss, they are 9-8 SU and 13-5 ATS. I am going to pinch my nose and take the Giants.

Best Bet: Giants +2
