After a rare week off, the UFC is back up and running this coming weekend with UFC Fight Night: Machado Garry vs Prates (aka UFC Kansas City). Since it’s a “road game” for the UFC (not a UFC Apex event), we get a pretty solid fight card. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Kansas City, I’ve got a winning play for Saturday’s co-main event. Let’s go!

The co-main event is Anthony Smith’s retirement match, so that makes him an autofade. If you aren’t fully committed to this sport, which Smith clearly hasn’t been for quite some time now, you need to get out quickly. The fact that Smith’s final bout is against a big, young knockout machine named Zhang Mingyang makes it even worse for the soon-to-be retiree.
Smith has been knocked out 12 times in his career, including in his last bout. And Zhang has won 12 of his 18 pro bouts via knockout. The Chinese fighter is winning this bout easily, and once prop lines are out at books, you can change this moneyline pick to a knockout prop for a better line.
