MMA Regional Pick of the Week: PFL First Round 3
PFL Lightweight Fight: Jay-Jay Wilson vs Mads Burnell
Card Start Time: Friday (4/18), 5:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
I understand why Wilson comes into this fight as the favorite, I just don’t agree with it. He’s the younger, taller, longer fighters and has a record with far less blemishes on it. He’s the new hotness and most people think Mads Burnell is old and busted. However, I think that’s a terrible read.
Mads Burnell is great at bringing the grind. He’s excellent up against the cage in the clinch and if he can get his wrestling going. Between the pressure that he brings and the fact that he should have a wrestling advantage, I expect Wilson to struggle in the areas that he likes the best – the mat.
As a result, I’m seeing this plus-money on Burnell as a gift and it’s one of my favorite plays of the week.
