No UFC, no problem, as the “regional” MMA scene (aka the non-UFC scene) is alive and well this week, with lots of big-time events and opportunities to win some money. One such event goes down on Friday afternoon/evening. For my MMA Prop Play of the Week: PFL First Round 3, I’ve got a winning play on the main event of the prelims. Off to Universal Studios Florida, we go!

MMA Prop Pick of the Week: PFL First Round 3
2025 PFL First Round: Middleweights & Lightweights
Main Card Start Time: 4:00 PM EST (ESPN/ESPN+)
My prop play comes from one of the opening round middleweight tournament fights, between 2023 PFL World Championship finalist Josh Silveira and newcomer to the promotion Mike Shipman. My MMA Gambling Podcast cohost, Gumby Vreeland, expert on all things regional MMA, is in on Silveria to win, and the oddsmakers agree with him.
So for my prop play, I’m taking the under 2.5 rounds for this fight. Silveria is a finisher, with 12 of his 13 wins coming within the distance. And Shipman is the same, finishing 15 of his 17 wins, so even if he pulls off the upset, it’ll probably come within the distance.
