The San Francisco Giants have sprinted out of the starting gate this season, sporting a 12-4 record heading into Tuesday night’s action in Philadelphia. Unfortunately for them, the only team with a better record resides with them in the National League West – the 14-3 San Diego Padres.
However, the advanced stats like the Giants the best, calculating them as a majors-best 2.7 runs better than the average team. And I’m riding with that stat and taking them as a road dog on Wednesday in Philadelphia against the Phillies.
The Phillies, on the other hand, are half a run worse than the average team, and the differences between them and the Giants were stark in Game 1 of this series, as the visitors won 10-4. I’m in on the Giants and Robbie Ray to get the job done again in Citizens Bank Park tomorrow night.
