Kansas City Royals vs New York Yankees
Start Time: 7:05 PM EST
This has not been a great start to the season for the New York Yankees, as they are out of the gate with an 8-7 record as these words are being typed. However, the advanced stats love the Bronx Bombers, ranking them third in the majors, almost two runs better than the average MLB team. So you’d expect the wins to start to come for New York.
The visiting Kansas City Royals don’t appear to be much worse than the Yankees, posting an 8-8 record. But they’ve been a run worse than an average team this season, so like the Yankees you’d expect their record to start to reflect that.
So with my calculations making the Yankees over three runs better than the Royals tomorrow – plus Max Fried on the bump for the home team – I’m taking the Yankees -1.5 as my best bet for Tuesday.
