It’s almost playoff time in the NHL, with the regular season concluding on Thursday, and the puck being dropped on the playoffs on April 19th. For my best bet for Monday, April 14th: NHL Predictions, we’re checking in on two teams who’ll be competing on the golf links rather than the ice this postseason. Off to Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C., we go!
Best Bet For Monday (April 14th): NHL Predictions
SAN JOSE SHARKS VS VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Those two aforementioned bottom-feeding teams would be the San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks (Vancouver isn’t technically a bottom-feeder, but they still aren’t good enough for the playoffs). The Sharks were supposed to be crummy, and they haven’t even managed to meet those mild expectations. The Canucks, meanwhile, were supposed to be good (over/under 99.5 points) and they aren’t, sitting with 88 points with two games to play.
But Vancouver is still superior to San Jose by the tune of 35 points in the standings. And the Sharks are especially putrid on the road. I try to keep these things simple – the superior team playing at home is the play. While the moneyline is a little steep, I don’t have faith in Vancouver covering the puck line for us, as their three wins over San Jose this season were all one-goal games.
