MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – April 11

Kansas City royals vs. Cleveland Guardians

First Pitch – 6:10 pm EST
Progressive Field –Cleveland, OH
Broadcast – MLB TV

The early game in Cleveland is perhaps the best spot of the week for a NRFI. Tanner Bibee takes the hill first against a Royals team that has been having a bit of trouble finding runs. They rank 22nd in MLB with 3.46 per game and are averaging just 1.67 over their last three. Even worse for them is the fact that Bibee seems to have their number. His season opener came against them. In that game he went a strong 5.2 innings allowing just two hits, two walks and no runs allowed. He should start this one with no problems.

The bottom half of the inning leaves me even less to sweat about. The Guardians are a bit better in terms of run scoring, but only barely. They rank 19th with just 3.67 per game and have also been under their season average over their last three. They’ll also have to face Kris Bubic, who is getting heat at the books as a potential Cy Young candidate. He’s yet to allow a run in 12.2 innings this year, while fanning 14 batters. Dial it up for another good outing and an NRFI here.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for April 11: No (-160)

Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners

First Pitch – 9:40 pm EST
T-Mobile Park – Seattle, WA
Broadcast – MLB TV

The nightcap sees a pair of teams struggling with their bats as well. The Mariners rank 25th in MLB in runs score with 3.38 per game. They also have just two first inning runs all year in the 13 games that they’ve played. That’s good enough for dead last in the major leagues. On Friday, they’ll get Jacob deGrom. While he hasn’t been all that great this year, we know he has another level in there. Also, he should be sharp enough out of the gate to get us three outs.

In the bottom half of the inning, we’ll see another underperforming pitcher get a chance to right the ship. Bryce Miller takes the bump for the Mariners. He’s been hit hard in both of his outings, but seeing the Rangers might just be what he needs. The Rangers rank 24th in MLB in terms of runs per game. They’ve also scored just once in the first inning over their last three. Between that and the pedigree we know Miller has, I think he should close this one up for us.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for April 11: No (-145)
