Once again the eyes of the golf world (actually the sports world) will be trained on Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia starting tomorrow as the 89th edition of the Masters Tournament kicks off. And, naturally, degenerate gamblers’ eyes will be trained on Augusta, as well. For my best bet for Thursday, April 10th: Masters Predictions, I’m easing into the event with a gimme putt of a bet. FORE!

Any Masters bet involving Scottie Scheffler is a gimme putt, right?! Just a little tap-in for a birdie?! The American is still the best golfer in the world, and it’s not even close. He’s also the 2022 and 2024 Masters champion, with a tenth-place finish sandwiched between his two championships.
Will Scheffler don the green jacket once more this year? The oddsmakers like his chances. And for my best bet for Thursday, I like his chances of getting out of the gate (off of the tee?) fast with a strong showing on Day 1. But as I mentioned in the introduction, we’ll ease into things and bet Scheffler will finish in the top 10 at the end of Day 1 action. He finished the first day in second, sixth, and third place over the past three years.
