With college basketball put to bed for the season (and just in time – my picks were lacking near the end of both the men’s and women’s tournaments), I’m turning my attention to the ice for my best bet tomorrow. Vancouver Canucks vs Dallas Stars
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The Dallas Stars were expected to be among the elite of the NHL this season, and mission accomplished, as their 105 points have already exceeded their pre-season over/under of 103.5 points with five games to play. The same can not be said for their opponent tomorrow night, the Vancouver Canucks, who have struggled to just 83 points, well below the 99.5 they were set at heading into the season, and their chances to make the postseason stands at 0.2%.
The Canucks are a good road team though, which helps for tomorrow. But they aren’t on the Stars’ level, who are 28-8-2 at home. Plus, Dallas has been spanking teams lately, winning by at least two goals in pretty much every game. My number for this game tomorrow is Dallas -1.43, so I’m going to make the Stars on the puck line my best bet for Tuesday.
