Florida Gators vs Houston Cougars
Start Time: 8:50 PM EST
Thirty years ago Andre 3000 of Outkast stated that “The South got something to say!”, and that is definitely the case for this year’s NCAA Tournament. We’re left with the Florida Gators battling the Houston Cougars for the right to not just be called the kings of the South, but the kings of all of college basketball.
Unlike the women’s national championship game, I anticipate this one to be much closer. The Gators have the edge on the offensive end; the Cougars have the tighter defense. Houston has played a slightly tougher schedule and the advanced stats like them a tad bit better than Florida.
So do the Cougars win their first national championship, or do the Gators secure their third? After crunching my numbers, I have this game lined up as Houston -1, so the Cougars plus the points is my best bet for Monday.
