After a two-week international foray (London! Mexico City!), the UFC octagon is back setting up shop in the UFC Apex this coming weekend. Sigh. But at least we don’t have middleweights in the main event (although the main card kicks off with two 185-pound fights). For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 105, I’ve got a winning play for Saturday’s featherweight co-main event. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 105
UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs Murphy (aka UFC Vegas 105)
Main Card Start Time: 9:00 PM EST (ESPN/ESPN+)
We’ve got 145-pounders in the top two fights on Saturday, which is preferred to the normal UFC Apex offerings. And, as mentioned, my best bet for the main card comes from the co-main event, where I expect Joanderson Brito to handle Pat Sabatini.
‘Tubarao’ (shark in English) is a better and more dangerous striker than his American counterpart, who is mostly a grappler. But Brito is also sneaky good in the grappling realm, with solid takedown defense. Add in the fact that he’s younger and bigger, and Brito becomes the obvious pick for me.
