Milos Uzan Higher Than 1.5 Turnovers
Houston has to face Tennessee in today’s Elite Eight match up. Houston point guard Milos Uzan comes into this game averaging 1.4 turnovers per game this year, but he’s seen a recent increase in usage and turnovers.
Uzan has gone higher than 1.5 turnovers in each of his last two games played. He’s also played two SEC teams, Alabama and Auburn, and had at least two turnovers in each match up. Uzan has gone higher than 1.5 turnovers in seven of his last 11 games played.
The Tennessee Volunteers defense generates 11.6 turnovers per game on average. That’s 184th in the nation. However, they generated 12 turnovers against Kentucky and 11 turnovers against UCLA. UCLA lacks a traditional point guard, but Dylan Andrews is close. He had five of the 11 turnovers against Tennessee. Against Kentucky, point guard Lamont Butler had two turnovers.
Tennessee is nasty on defense, and they should cause Uzan to hand the ball back at least twice in this match up. Let’s lock up Uzan to go higher than 1.5 turnovers in our Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
Johni Broome Higher Than 20.5 Points
Auburn has to face Michigan State in its Elite Eight match up. Let’s ride with Auburn big man Johni Broome to go higher than 20.5 points against the Spartans in today’s game.
Broome enters this match up averaging 18.5 points per game. However, he’s gone higher than 20.5 points in four of his last six games. Broome went higher than 20.5 points against Michigan, Ohio State and Purdue this year. Those were the only three Big Ten teams that Auburn had to play against this year.
Michigan State enters this game allowing opponents to shoot 49.0% on two-point shots this year. That’s 101st in the nation. The Spartans also allow opponents to average 58.4 field goal attempts per game. That’s 204th in the nation.
Michigan State has one of the best perimeter defenses in the nation and is phenomenal at limiting three-point attempts. The way to attack the Spartans is down low, and Johni Broome should have a day in this match up. Trey Kaufman-Renn had 24 against the Spartans in their only game with Purdue. Hunter Dickinson scored 28 points against Sparty back in November. Look for Broome to have similar success and go higher than 20.5 points for your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
Jeremy Fears Jr. Higher Than 0.5 Steals
Michigan State guard Jeremy Fears Jr. has had at least one steal in all three tournament games that he’s played in. Let’s ride with Fears to stretch that streak to four games in a row today.
Fears comes into today’s game against Auburn averaging 1.1 steals per game this year. He’s gone higher than 0.5 steals in 28 out of 35 games played this year. He’s also gone higher than 0.5 steals in five of his last seven games played.
Auburn allows opponents to rack up 6.8 steals per game this year. That’s 157th in the nation. The Tigers play a chaotic style that lends itself to opponents getting in front of passes.
Fears has proven that he’s one of the most bankable defenders in the nation, and should grab at least one steal in today’s game against Auburn. You’ll want to go higher than 0.5 steals for Fears in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
