Tomorrow’s action kicks off with the Midwest Region final, with the #2 Tennessee Volunteers from the SEC up against the #1 ranked Houston Cougars of the Big 12. The SEC was so stacked this year that the Volunteers were only the fourth-best team in the conference, while also being ranked fifth in the nation by KenPom (Houston is ranked third overall).
It was a great season for Tennessee, but I think it ends tomorrow at the hands of the streaking Cougars, winners of 16 straight. Both teams have elite defenses, but Houston’s is the best in the nation while also having a better offense than Tennessee.
My line for this game is Houston -3.5, which is right around where it is at the books, so I’ll have to settle for the Cougars on the moneyline for my best bet for Sunday.
