The Final Four is so close that every team remaining can smell it. Saturday night kicks off the Elite 8 with Texas Tech taking on Duke. Followed by an incredible matchup between Alabama vs Duke. Let’s go through my favorite College Basketball picks for today, March 29th.
College Basketball Picks March 29th – March Madness
6:09 ET: Texas Tech vs Florida (-6.5/156.5)
I’m backing Florida laying -6.5 against Alabama in the Elite 8 mainly because of the Gators depth. They have four guys who are averaging double digit points per game. Florida’s defense was also impressive in the Sweet 16 against Maryland holding them to just 71 points.
Texas Tech is a talented team that’s top 100 in scoring offense and scoring defense. This will be just the sixth time this season where Texas Tech is an underdog, so I understand why taking the points is tempting. With that said, Texas Tech is lucky to be here after being down double-digits for much of the second half against Arkansas. Florida not only has 33 wins but is 27-10 ATS on the season. They’re deep and great on the boards, I think Florida gets back to the Final Four.
Best Bet: Florida -6.5
8:49 ET: Alabama vs Duke (-6.5/173.5)
Duke’s offense has been explosive this tournament, scoring 87+ points in all three games. Led by Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel, the Blue Devils have multiple scoring threats.
Alabama’s defense has struggled with athletic scorers, and Duke’s roster is full of them. The Crimson Tide also tend to push the pace, which will lead to a high-scoring affair. In a game where both teams will have a bunch of possessions, I expect Duke to go over 90.5 points Saturday night.
