The UFC’s octagon continues its world tour this month, leaving The O2 Arena in London, England this past weekend to set up shop in Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico this coming weekend. And, just like in London, we’ve got a native son and former champ in the main event. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Mexico City, I’ve got a live dog in what should be a thrilling featherweight bout on the prelims.

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Mexico City
UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Erceg (aka UFC Mexico City)
Start Time: 4:00 PM EST (ESPN2/ESPN+)
That thrilling featherweight fight in question would be between Christian Rodriguez and Melquizael Costa. I’m a fan of both guys, so this was a difficult one to pick. But, as the article states, I’m going with the dog in this matchup – Costa.
Both guys are quite similar fighters, but Costa is getting the nod because he’s the better striker in this matchup, and that’s not even his strong suit – he’s submitted his last two opponents. And Rodriguez was previously a 135-pounder until he was forced to move up after multiple weight misses – Costa should be the bigger and stronger man in the fight.
