The mammoth task of digging out of the parlay hole I’ve dug myself continues apace, as a +269 hit on Thursday makes it four wins over the past five days. And I’m going to continue to dig myself out via the college basketball hardwood. For my SGPN Parlay for Friday (March 21st): College Basketball Parlay, we’re headed to the South Region in Cleveland (a famous southern city) and the East Region in Seattle (a famous eastern city). Akron Zips vs Arizona Wildcats
Start Time: 12:40 PM EST
We head to the East first, to Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena (a ridiculous sentence to write unless you somehow live west of Seattle). For a small conference team, the Akron Zips are ok, coming in 97th in KenPom’s power rankings. But they are no match for the Arizona Wildcats, who rank 14th.
So I don’t expect we’ll see a #13 over a #4 upset here. My line is Arizona -19.5, so the Wildcats on the spread is the first half of our parlay.
Bryant Bulldogs vs Michigan State Spartans
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
The second half of my parlay is one of the day’s late games, and sorry, no Cinderellas are going to be meeting any princes in this one. The Michigan State Spartans on the spread is my best bet of the day.
The Bryant Bulldogs are actually one of the few below-average teams in the tournament, with advanced stats calculating that they are two points worse than an average team. The Spartans are not an average team.
