His government name may be Vinicius Oliveira, but the Brazilian bantamweight goes by the handle ‘Lok Dog’. How perfect is that for my underdog pick of the week?! Speaking of names, the man he is going up against on Saturday in Saudi Arabia has a familiar and famous last name – Said Nurmagomedov.
This Nurmagomedov may be from Dagestan, but he’s not related to Khabib and company. And when you see Said fight, it’s obvious he’s not a blood relative, as Said prefers to strike rather than grapple. Bad plan against ‘Lok Dog’, who has ended 16 of his 21 wins via knockout, and will put a pace on Nurmagomedov, who has been on the sidelines since October 2023 (ring rust is real).
