The Detroit Red Wings are rolling heading into Tuesday night’s home game, winning four straight games. They welcome a struggling Ottawa Senator team tomorrow night to Little Caesars Arena. Ottawa has dropped two straight and four of their last five games, all on the road.
Not coincidentally, the visiting Senators have been without their top goalie, 2023 Vezina winner Linus Ullmark, since he got injured on December 22nd. While the advanced stats like Ottawa in this spot by about half a goal, that includes the 19 games that Ullmark was between the pipes for them. The dropoff between his play and his backups is substantial.
I’ll take my chances on a blazing-hot home team tomorrow night going up against a slumping, injured squad. My best bet is the Detroit Red Wings as a live dog on the moneyline.
