Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic

Start Time – 3:30 PM EST

We’ll kick things off with the day’s first game, with the Brooklyn Nets visiting the Orlando Magic. The Magic have been doing a decent job staying afloat minus their two best players, and their 12-4 home record is still fourth-best in the league.

Brooklyn is about to go into fire sale mode, as they don’t want to win too many games this season. I have this game lined up as Orlando -9.5, so we’re getting some value on their side.

Atlanta Hawks vs Toronto Raptors

Start Time – 6:00 PM EST

The Toronto Raptors are coming off a 29-point spanking by the Memphis Grizzlies (and a 14-point defeat before that to the New York Knicks) – all part of a nine-game losing skid. And yet, here I am making a play on them on Sunday.

When you dive into the stats, Atlanta has overachieved by three games and Toronto has underachieved by the same amount of games. Atlanta is only about a point and a half better than Toronto on the spread – when you add in the home-court advantage for the Raptors, Toronto should be favored by 3.5 points.
