Lock Selection: Indianapolis Colts
Another week of the NFL, another week of fading the New York Giants. If you have the Colts available to you in your Survivor League, they are a must-pick. With the Raiders picking up a win in Week 16 against the Jags, it leaves the G-Men as the only two-loss team in the NFL.
New York has Philadelphia next week, so this is their only remaining game that is somewhat winnable. They are on the proverbial one-yard line in getting the first-overall pick in the draft. They can’t possibly mess up the tank here, can they?
Indianapolis hasn’t looked great over the past few weeks, although Anthony Richardson has looked a bit better since being benched a few weeks ago. Last week, we saw the Falcons dominate this Giants’ defense by running the ball on early downs. Bijan Robinson had one of his best games, and Michael Penix played mistake-free football (besides Kyle Pitts handing the Giants an interception in the red zone).
Indy has been leaning on their run game, which has paid dividends. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns last week. I’m sure they’ll have a similar game plan against this weak Giants defensive front.
Bonus Selections:
With just two weeks of the NFL season remaining, there tends not to be the best choices for Survivor picks. With that said, I’ll give you some tips on strategies you may need to take a chance on
Ravens, Seahawks, Chargers
These are your slam dunks. If you have one of these squads still available and you have already used Indianapolis, use them this week.
Raiders
If you didn’t use them last week, I would really consider using them this week, if you are in a tough situation. Now that Vegas is most likely out of striking distance for the first overall pick, I think they play looser and more focused. Also, if you watched any of the Saints Packers game on Monday night, you know how putrid this Saints offense is without Alvin Kamara. There’s a chance he can’t go again in this one. If that’s the case, the Raiders are most definitely live to win the game!
