The confetti has fallen on the 2024 F1 season and Max Verstappen was crowned the champion for the fourth consecutive year. He came into the season as the heavy favorite and clinched the title with a few races left in the season. But the way the year ended could mean big-time competition for Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing Team in 2025. Let’s jump in and take a look at the 2025 F1 drivers’ championship odds and best bets.
The end of the 2024 season brought a lot of drama in the Constructors title fight and even a little into the drivers’ championship. While Max ended up clinching early due to the lead he’d built early in the season, the second half of the year showed us other drivers should be able to compete with Max next season.
The Vegas odds reflect that with Lando Norris being the favorite in some places and four drivers at 7/1 odds or less. 2025 could be the most exciting drivers’ championship battle since 2021.

2025 F1 Drivers Championship Odds and Best Bets
The Favorite: Oscar Piastri (+1000)
It’s like splitting hairs between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris at the top of the board. Both are great, and these are the two most likely contenders for the title, hence the odds. However, from a betting aspect, it just makes it hard to bet on them. Both Ferrari drivers definitely have me taking a hard look, Charles was very competitive last season and this could be the perfect resurgence spot for Lewis.
Oscar is the first place I really pause though and want to lay down some money. His teammate tops the board, and Oscar is five times the price. Lando has been and appears to be the top driver for McLaren, but if Oscar can grab an early points lead or come out of the gates hot. The team won’t hesitate to put the focus on him. In my opinion, this is the only one of the top teams that doesn’t have a true 1A-1B option.
Oscar has impressed in his first two seasons in Formula One. Continually getting better and now finding his way to the top of the podium multiple times. McLaren made a hard charge late and stole the Constructors title and they are coming into 2025 hungry and ready for a drivers title. I’m calling my shot early and getting value on a Young Piastri.
The Long Shot: George Russel (+2000)
You can’t go too far down the board in F1 when looking for long-shot bets if you want someone who still has a chance to win. I’ll admit, it’s definitely a long shot for Russell to win it all but let’s paint a picture here. He’s taken over as the true #1 at Mercedes now and has the perfect guy coming in to play second fiddle to him. Mercedes hits something in the offseason and Russell comes out of the gates hot.
He finished last season on a strong note with multiple wins and strong runs. At just 26-years-old I don’t think we’ve seen the full capability of what Russell has to offer. Last year you couldn’t have made a case for someone at 20/1, but with the shift and parity we’ve seen at the end of 2024, maybe Russell has a shot.
