Note the afternoon start time tomorrow – don’t get your bet in late. The Tulane Green Wave enters their first Gasparilla Bowl after back-to-back losses in the American Athletic Conference. Their Southeastern Conference foe, the Florida Gators, meanwhile, has reeled off three straight wins as they look to win this bowl game for the first time (they previously played – and lost – in 2021.
Despite their struggles, I’m playing Tulane on the spread. They have the ninth-best offense in the country, and the 19th-best defense, so they’re a very well-rounded, high-level team. While I’m not saying they will walk out of Raymond James Stadium tomorrow carrying a trophy, based on the advanced stats, Florida should only be favored by a couple of points on the spread tomorrow. There is huge value on the Green Wave on the spread.
