The Houston Cougars’ three losses this season (all neutral site games) have caused their national ranking to drop from #4 in the preseason to their current spot at #15, but the advanced stats argue they are a better team than the rankings suggest.
And they’re still undefeated at home in the Fertitta Center. And that’s not about to change tomorrow as the Toledo Rockets come to town. While Toledo’s 6-4 record looks solid on paper, they’ve built it on a weak schedule. My line for this game is Houston -39, which is outrageously high, but the Cougars have covered the 28-point spread we’re getting tomorrow four times already this season. And Toledo has lost by 30+ twice this season.
Let’s hope Houston is motivated to get back up higher in the rankings and that they keep their feet on the gas for the full game tomorrow.
