The last UFC pay-per-view of 2024 goes down this Saturday in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas – UFC 310. While it’s a chalky card in my eyes, I’ve managed to find at least one live dog for us. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 310, we’re banking on a former champion fighting on Saturday’s prelims.

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 310
UFC 310: PANTOJA VS ASAKURA
Prelim Start Time: 8:00 pm EST (ESPN+)
UFC 310 has a weird distinction of having two former UFC champions (plus a former Strikeforce champion) competiting on its prelims. Chris Weidman and Aljamain Sterling wore UFC gold around their waists in the past, and Clay Guida was a Strikeforce champion many moons ago. But for my underdog best bet, I’m going with Sterling.
Sterling is fighting up at featherweight now after being the king of bantamweight for a short while. But his opponent on Saturday, Movsar Evloev, was also a former 135-pounder, so size won’t be an issue for Sterling on Saturday. Neither should be Evloev’s strongest (only?) attribute – his wrestling. Sterling is a very good grappler and wrestler himself. The key here is he is also a betting striker than Evloev. This makes him a live dog.
