On this episode of Five Minute Fantasy Football, my updated Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings. My positional rankings, flex rankings, and top fantasy football streaming options for week 5 are included. This week, we have four teams on bye (LAC, DET, PHI, and TEN). The injuries and bad matchups might have you asking who I should start. It’s hard to bail on the guys you drafted, but draft capital is out of the window already.

Updated Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings: Top Streaming Options
After four weeks of NFL football, we can identify defenses to attack and avoid for Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers. The top three defenses to avoid are the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and the Miami Dolphins. So far, the top three defenses to attack are the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, and Indianapolis Colts. Tight End remains the most difficult position to predict, even the top guys continue to stink. But, do not worry my friends; I have three great options for you this week that are guaranteed to hit.
QB, Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears vs. Carolina Panthers (23rd)
Caleb Williams has been much better the past 2 weeks. He is making decisions faster and the team has been allowing him to throw more. This week they get the Carolina Panthers and Williams should be able to take advantage. Getting Keenan Allen back is huge and the team is also starting the run the ball better. It has been a struggle to start Caleb Williams this season, but this is a week you can do it confidently. He is widely available and should be considered in Week 5.
QB, Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts (30th)
Trevor Lawrence has been a major disappointment. Jacksonville paid Lawrence big money this offseason, following a down season. His best season to date was in 2022, but 2023 was riddled with injuries and Lawrence regressed. In 2024, Trevor Lawrence continues to struggle with turnovers and he continues to take too many sacks. He gets a great matchup this week and should be getting one of his favorite targets (Evan Engram) back this week. Look for Trevor to bounce back in Week 5.
QB, Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders (31st)
I know starting Deshaun Watson is scary, but Washington is such a good matchup. We saw them make Daniel Jones look like a competent quarterback. They are a fast-paced and high-scoring offense paired with a bad defense. It has been a great combination for fantasy football quarterbacks and wide receivers all season. We have also seen Watson run the ball at a higher rate this season. If you are in a pinch due to a bye week, injury, or bad matchup, Watson is available in 86% of leagues.
TE, Tucker Kraft – Green Bay Packers at Los Angeles Rams (25th)
Tucker Kraft is getting close to being an every-week starter. He is the starting tight end and with Christian Watson out, he could be more involved. Last season we saw Tucker Kraft emerge as a reliable option at the position. In two games with Jordan Love, he has finished TE18 and TE1. Add the fact that the Rams are a plus matchup and go pick up Kraft. He is somehow available in 45% of the leagues on Sleeper right now. In my updated Week 5 Fantasy Football rankings, Kraft is TE7.
TE, Tyler Conklin – New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings (28th)
Tyler Conklin was a big miss last week against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos defense has been tough all season and the Jets struggled against them and the rain last week. Conklin remains to be a big part of this offense. There are no concerns when booking at his snaps, route participation, and targets. The Vikings are so tough against the run, they are a pass funnel team and Conklin should be busy in Week 5.
TE, Juwan Johnson – New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs (32nd)
The Kansas City Chiefs have allowed the most fantasy football points to the tight end position in 2024. Juwan Johnson is the receiving option in this tight-end room and Taysom Hill is Questionable to play. This should be a good measuring stick for the Saints and this offense could end up playing from behind. Johnson is available in your leagues and is a solid streaming option in Week 5.
D/ST – Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders (28th)
The Denver Broncos stifled the New York Jets defense last week and they have been good all year. They played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tough, the only team to shut them down. Las Vegas has been a good matchup with Davante Adams. Without Davante Adams, this offense is going to be bad. We saw it last week and they will be a target moving forward. The Denver Broncos are currently #1 for the updated week 5 fantasy football expert consensus rankings.
D/ST – Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants (27th)
A big factor in this one will be the health of Malik Nabers. The Giants’ Rookie is in Concussion protocol and Questionable for Sunday. He is the best player on this team and has the best chance of putting up points. Seattle’s defensive line has a plus matchup against the offensive line as well. Seattle was the most popular D/ST add this week play them confidently.
D/ST – New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins (31st)
Pick your poison for this matchup. The Patriots are the 30th best matchup for D/STs and the Dolphins are the 31st best matchup. Miami plans to start Snoop Huntley again and we saw what that looked like last week. Both of these teams have exactly what you are looking for. Bad Quarterbacks, and bad offensive lines, and both are good streaming options in Week 5.
