One Futures Bet A Day For NFL Countdown: AFC/NFC Number One Seed Combo
Kansas City Chiefs to be the AFC Number 1 Seed and San Francisco 49ers to be the NFC Number 1 Seed (+2100 on FanDuel)
This NFL Futures is located at the same place as yesterdays. You’ll have to go to Fanduel’s “Future Fusions” section and look under Popular Combinations. As I was perusing around some of the popular combinations, I found one that combines two futures picks I gave out at the very beginning of the month. I have some slight concern about the 49ers portion, but we’ll get to that.
Breaking Down the two teams
Let’s focus on the Chiefs first. They’ve added more weapons on the offense. They have arguably the best quarterback in the league as well as the best coach. The defense was on fire last year and their strongest asset. If the offense can rebound back to their usual dominance, how good can a Chiefs’ team with both an elite defense and offense be?
They’ve won two Super Bowls in a row, which means everybody will be gunning for them. I’m not super concerned. It’s a competitive conference for sure with teams like the Bills, Ravens, Texans, and others all trying to take down the champ. However, I believe in this Chiefs team while they try to get the three-pete.
That brings us to the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan has created a system that just works. They have the best running back in Christian McCaffrey. While his health has been a concern in the past, he hasn’t had issues lately. Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant, is also becoming a young stud in the league. I’m slightly concerned with the Aiyuk situation. However, I trust Shanahan to figure it out.
The defense is also rock-solid. Yes, they often deal with injuries. It seems to be the 49ers way. However, that didn’t stop them from getting into the Super Bowl last year. While I’m not sure the 49ers can make it all the way to the Super Bowl this year, I think they can be one of the better teams in the NFC. They are among a small handful that have a shot at obtaining the number one seed in the NFC.
Combining these two on Fanduel’s Future Fusions pays you a nice +2100. Definitely worth a stab at the two returning Super Bowl teams from last year.
