F1 British Grand Prix Odds and Best Bets

Last week it was British driver George Russell who took home the top of the podium honors in Austria. Max Verstappen dominated the race but was run down late by Lando Norris. During the battle for the lead, the two drivers’ cars touched and caused punctures to both cars in the closing laps. Russell cruised past them for his second career Grand Prix victory.

Max Verstappen -175
Lando Norris +250
Oscar Piastri +1600
George Russell +1600
Lewis Hamilton +1800
Charles Leclerc +2500
Carlos Sainz +3300
Sergio Perez +5000

F1 British Grand Prix Best Bets

Winning Margin Under 6 Seconds (+175)

The 2019 British Grand Prix, in which Lewis Hamilton won his home race by 24 seconds over teammate Valtteri Bottas, was the last time the winning margin was more than 6 seconds. All four Grand Prix since have been close ones. Even last year, when Max was on his tear of domination, Lando Norris kept it within four seconds at the end of the day.

The last three races and four of the last five on the F1 schedule have all been under this margin. Over the last six straight Grand Prix, the margin of victory has been under eight seconds in all six races.

Esteban Ocon Points Finish (+125)

The season couldn’t have started off worse for the Alpine team. They brought up the back of the pack and just flat lacked speed. Their technical director and head of aerodynamics both left the team after the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix. Something has clicked over in the Alpine camp lately, and both cars have shot up the grid and are in contention for points finishes almost weekly.

Over the last seven races, Ocon has scored three points finishes and five finishes inside the top 12. Two weeks ago in the Spanish Grand Prix, the team scored a double points finish on a circuit that should translate well to Silverstone.

Winning Nationality – British (+175)

You can certainly bet Lando Norris to win this race at +250, but why not snag the safety blanket of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton just in case for a short discount? This covers you with three of what appears in current form to be the five best cars (Max & Oscar being the other two).

The more drivers you can have with a true shot at this race, the better. Yes, Max remains the heavy favorite, but the field has clearly caught him. The McLarens should be really good this weekend and George already proved last week he can be right there lurking if things go crazy. Give me the hometown fellas at a great number.

Oscar Piastri to Win (+1600)

Now, we are going to complete having four of the top five with a hedge on Piastri to snag his first career Grand Prix victory. I expect both McLaren cars to show a lot of speed this week. Twice this season, Piastri has finished in second place at both Monaco and, last week in Austria.

He’s young, and no doubt has some refusing to do before we see the max of his potential, but Oscar might just shock everyone this week, and at this price, he’s too good to pass up. Now, we just need Max Verstappen not to win—easy enough, right?
