Favored a Lot, or Not
The San Francisco 49ers are the lone team on the 2024 NFL schedule that are the favorites in all 17 regular season games at the start of the season. Four teams are favorites in 14 of their 17 games. Those teams are the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs, the 2023 MVP-led Baltimore Ravens, the Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets, and Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals.
Two teams are not favored in a single game heading into the season. The Carolina Panthers, who return with Bryce Young as their starter, went 5-11-1 against the spread in 2023 and had the worst win-loss record in the league at 2-15. The New England Patriots are the other team not favored in a single game. They also went 5-11-1 against the spread in 2023.
They underwent a lot more massive changes than Carolina, with Head Coach Bill Belichick stepping down and Jerod Mayo taking his place. The Patriots then traded Quarterback Mac Jones and drafted the heir apparent in Drake Maye.

Tough Road or Easy Street
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the hardest strength of schedule in 2024. They are favorites in just seven games. Mike Tomlin has never won less than eight games in a single season in his 17 seasons as the Steelers Head Coach. The New England Patriots have the second-hardest schedule. Making it a tough road for a rookie Head Coach and Quarterback duo, which is why the Patriots are not the favorites in any games.
The Cleveland Browns, who got from Joe Flacco back to Deshaun Watson, face the third-hardest schedule. Yet the Browns are still favorites in nine games.
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens kick their tough schedule off in Kansas City taking on the Chiefs, they are favorites in 14 of their 17 games in 2024. The Minnesota Vikings and rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy round out the top five of the hardest schedules in 2024. They are favorites in just three games to open the season.
On the opposite side of things. It’s the Atlanta Falcons that have the easiest strength of schedule in 2024. Which is why they are favorites in an astonishing 13 games. Jim Harbaugh and his Los Angeles Chargers have the second easiest strength of schedule, leading them to be favorites in nine games.
Rookie Quarterback and No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Caleb Williams, and the Bears will face the third-easiest schedule. They are the favorite in 10 games, but they haven’t covered the spread in 10 games or more since 2018. Aaron Rodgers returns to the Jets with the fourth-easiest schedule. The New Orleans Saints round out the top five easiest schedules; however, they are the favorite in just six games.
