Best Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups: Week of Nov 12th

Dorian Finney-Smith – Brooklyn – SF/PF – 48% Rostered

(13.2 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.9 BPG, 3.3 3PTs)

It’s still a small sample size, but through nine games, Brooklyn forward Dorian Finney-Smith is having a career year. He’s posting his best numbers across the board, especially when it comes from long-range shooting, and brings decent value outside of scoring, such as rebounding and blocks. He’s bound to regress at some point, plus get fewer minutes as Brooklyn gets their injured players back, but he might be worth a kick of the tires at this point.

Marcus Sasser – Detroit – PG – 34% Rostered

(10.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 2.8 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 1.8 PTs)

Marcus Sasser looks like a very good pickup for the Detroit Pistons, as they grabbed him 25th in this past June’s draft. He’s already gone for 19, 22, and 26 points in a game this season and is shooting 44% from deep. He is a rookie, so he’s quite inconsistent, but if his shots aren’t falling, he’s proven to be a good source of assists as well. Currently available in about two-thirds of Yahoo leagues, Sasser is ranked the 66th-best fantasy player thus far.

Grayson Allen – Phoenix – SG/SF – 34% Rostered

(12.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 3.1 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 2.9 3PTs)

Grayson Allen is a guy who consistently popped up on the fantasy basketball waiver wire list last season, and this year, he’s having an even better season. With Phoenix’s stars injury-prone, as expected, Allen has been filling the void, playing over 31 minutes a night. With career highs across the board, including 49% from three, Allen should be rostered in far more leagues than he currently is.

Lonnie Walker IV – Brooklyn – SG/SF – 34% Rostered

(16.8 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.6 BPG, 2.4 3PTs)

Back to Brooklyn, we go to highlight one of DFS’s teammates, Lonnie Walker IV (and there’s yet another Nets player in the Other Players section below). This is another guy who is out of the gate with career-best numbers across the board, making his signing by the Nets this offseason look like the work of geniuses.

And he’s putting up the numbers listed above in just over 22 minutes a night. He injured his knee on Sunday but was given the ok to sub back into the game, so he should be good to go going forward.

Sam Hauser – Boston- SF/PF – 9% Rostered

(9.3 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 0.2 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.4 BPG, 2.7 3PTs)

Here’s a deep cut for you – 9% rostered Sam Hauser. But the man has been a bucket off of the bench for the Celtics this year. He’s scored in double-digits in four straight games and five of six, and hit 15 three-pointers over his last four games. This is another guy getting work done in limited minutes, as he’s only playing about 19 a game. If you need three-point help, he could be your man.

Moritz Wagner – Orlando – C – 31% Rostered

(12.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 0.7 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.6 BPG, 0.8 3PTs)

Franz Wagner’s big brother Moritz has been cooking for the Magic as of late, yet another player optimizing his minutes on the court. Averaging a career-high 12.3 points per game, he’s scored 19 in two of his last three games. He’s also really been hitting the boards, averaging six rebounds per contest over his last four games.
